The Animator

The wind blew gently across the sunlit field, the hues of yellow traced along the grass ever so gently. Amidst this two figures stood across from each other. “You really amuse me you know?” she said in a teasing, almost taunting voice. The other person ignoring her began to speak. “Hey, ____. Can you do me a favor.” “oh? to ask from me ____, that's a lot. But I expected it after all, you're a mortal.” “yeah and that's why I'm asking you this. It would be a curse not to.” “What could be so important?” a slight grim look on his face he struggled to find words “say, you'll outlive me right? If that's really true, I want you to forget me. If you can't forget me, seek other things out. It would surely be boring to live a long life right?” “pfft” “what?” “It's funny.” As she continued to laugh, he would stare for a while, and then smile contently. “Right, it's funny isn't it?”

There was no one there when it happened, except me. He knew no one else anymore except me. Despite living long I'd never buried someone until now. “He was amusing…” maybe that's what i said at the time… I moved on not expecting much from the next eternity for a while. What I least expected was it to take a while. I found myself remembering words I once disregarded. It's unlike me but I set out for once. To see something new for once. Maybe his words influenced me, or I felt that I should at least do that much. But I still felt something and I still feel it. If only i didnt remember him, remember his curse.
